Whips can be trimmed to appropriate sizes depending on the vent being cleaned 

For a standard 4” vent, whips in the 4-7” length will clean well. 

Keep whip ends trimmed with clean ends for best cleaning performance 

Clean, square-cut whip ends clean more aggressively because they allow compressed air to concentrate force at the tip of the whip. With a uniform end, air pressure accelerates the whip as a single, stiff unit, creating a sharper snap and higher tip velocity on impact. Frayed ends bleed air, create turbulence, and soften the tip, which absorbs energy and turns impact into brushing rather than striking. Keeping whip ends neatly trimmed maintains stiffness, preserves pressure, and delivers more consistent, harder hits for better lint removal.
